UNDERSTANDING PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM (PPP) FORGIVENESS: Download the video recording of our webinar about Understanding PPP Forgiveness. On June 8, the U.S. Senate, by unanimous consent, cleared the House-passed bill to extend the Paycheck Protection Program. The bill:
  • Extends the PPP loan forgiveness period to include costs incurred over 24 weeks after a loan is issued or through Dec. 31, whichever comes first. Businesses that received a loan before the measure is enacted could keep the current eight-week period.
  • Extends to Dec. 31 from June 30 a period in which loans can be forgiven if businesses restore staffing or salary levels that were previously reduced. The provision would apply to worker and wage reductions made from Feb. 15 through 30 days after enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) Act, which was signed into law on March 27.

COVID-19 SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF: UNDERSTANDING THE STABLE FUND
Download the video recording of our webinar about the Standing Together with Aurora Businesses Local Emergency (STABLE) Fund. Our featured speakers presented details on the newly established $1,400,000 fund to help businesses located in the City of Aurora make ends meet in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The STABLE fund opened on May 1 and will close on May 15. It will provide forgivable loans to help businesses support working capital (i.e., rent, payroll, and utilities), and other expenses related to maintaining or expanding operations. During the webinar, we review application requirements, key dates and end with a Q&A session.

CARES ACT WEBINAR
​This webinar, hosted by the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce and presented by Kris Denzel, Senior Director, International Affairs, US Chamber of Commerce, provides a summary of the legislation and details of how small businesses and self-employed individuals may qualify and prepare to file for a loan. Specifically, the webinar covers the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that has allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn. Known as the Paycheck Protection Program, the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses.
